Tatar poet and writer.
Was born on December 9, 1900, in the village of Karmat, nowadays Aksubaevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, into a peasant family. He learned to read and write from his father, then studied at the village school. In 1914 his brothers took Hasan with them to the Urals, where he worked as a prospector at the copper mines.
Decisive in his education was his training in one of the advanced Muslim educational institutions - the Ufa madrasah "Galiya". Here he attended the musical and literary circle of the madrasah shakir, the young poet Shaikhzad Babich. From the beginning of 1915, his teacher of literature was the famous writer Galimdzhan Ibragimov. He also met Sagit Ramiev, Majit Gafuri, and Sagyt Sunchaley in madrassah.
In 1918-1928 years Hasan Tufan taught in schools in Siberia, the Urals, Kazan, in 1928-1930 he travelled to the republics of Transcaucasia and Central Asia.
In 1930-1934 Hasan Tufan was an editor of the Tatar Radio Committee. Later he became the executive secretary of the magazine "Совет әдәбияты" (Soviet Literature, now "Казан утлары").
In 1940, Hasan Tufan was repressed. In 1956, after his rehabilitation, the poet returned to Kazan.
He died on June 10, 1981, in Kazan. Buried at the Tatar cemetery in Kazan.
