She was born on May 3 in St. Petersburg in the family of a doctor.
Legendary poet. She is a laureate of the Stalin Prize for the poem "Pervorossiysk".
Bergholz became a student at Leningrad University. She chose the Faculty of Philology.
During the war, Bergholz was in besieged Leningrad. She worked on radio and inspired people to fight.
In 1943 Olga received the award "For the Defense of Leningrad". In 1945, a radio film entitled "900 Days" was created.
Olga Fedorovna Berggolts died on November 13, 1975 in Leningrad. She was buried at Literatorskie mostki of the Volkovsky cemetery. In honour of the poetess, a street in St. Petersburg and in Uglich is named, a bas-relief is installed near the entrance to the Radio House.
